Dr. Linda A. Livingstone
A distinguished scholar and academic leader, Dr. Linda A. Livingstone began her tenure as Baylor University’s 15th President on June 1, 2017. Dr. Livingstone’s presidency marks her return to Baylor after time on the Waco campus from 1991 to 2002. She was an assistant professor and an associate professor in the Department of Management before serving for four years as associate dean of graduate programs for the Hankamer School of Business.
Dr. Livingstone went on to serve as dean of Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management from 2002 to 2014 and as dean and professor of management at The George Washington University School of Business from 2014 to 2017. While at Pepperdine, Dr. Livingstone oversaw a $200 million expansion of the school’s graduate campuses, the addition of an executive conference center and a significant increase in scholarship support for students. At GWU, she led the development of a strategic plan for the business school that built on the school’s culture of service and its unique location in our nation’s capital to enhance the school’s global focus.
As a scholar in organizational behavior, leadership and creativity with deep expertise in accreditation issues, Dr. Livingstone served as chair of the board of the international Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), which accredits 786 of the best business schools globally across 53 countries and territories. She has been a board member of the AACSB since 2009 and an executive committee member since 2011.
Dr. Livingstone has been extensively published and cited in academic and professional outlets, with her publications including articles in Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of High Technology Management Research, Journal of Management and the book Business and Corporate Integrity: Sustaining Organizational Compliance, Ethics and Trust.
A member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and Women Corporate Directors, she also has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Capital Southwest Industrials, a public company traded under the symbol “CSWI” on the NASDAQ since 2015.
A native of Perkins, Dr. Livingstone played varsity basketball at Oklahoma State University where she earned a BS in economics and management, an MBA and a PhD in management and organizational behavior.
