Dr. Dawn Carlson
Dr. Dawn S. Carlson serves as the H.R. Gibson Chair of Organizational Development in Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business. She is a graduate of Baylor University (BBA, MBA) and Florida State University (PhD).
Dr. Carlson’s research focuses on the intersection of work and family life, including work-family conflict, enrichment and balance. She co-authored the book Beyond Juggling: Rebalancing Your Busy Life and has published over 80 journal articles, including “Health and Turnover of Working Mothers after Childbirth via the Work-Family Interface: An Analysis Across Time” recently published in the Journal of Applied Psychology.
She was a finalist for the Rosabeth Moss Kanter Award for Excellence in Work-Family Research from Purdue University and her doctoral research on work-family conflict won the Women in Management Best Dissertation award and subsequent work earned the Best Paper Award from the Academy of Management. Dr. Carlson was the recipient of the Robert & Robin Nitsche Outstanding Research Award and the Brent Clum Outstanding Research Award as well as the Hankamer School of Business Distinguished Professor Award and the Baylor University Outstanding Professor in Scholarship Award.
